Description
1. Press the button to turn the meter on and off.
2. At the beginning of each moisture measurement, you should thoroughly clean the probe with the supplied scouring pad. Make sure the probe is always clean and shiny!
3. Insert the digital moisture meter probe vertically into the pot at half the distance between the rim of the pot and the stem/stem of the plant. In the case of a potted plant, the depth of the measurement depends on the size of the pot. Measure as deep as possible in a large pot and more at the surface if it is a small pot. Always try to measure 1/2 to 2/3 below the Earth's surface. If the pot has a diameter of at least 30 cm, it is better to measure closer to the stem/stem of the plant (at 1/3 of the distance between the stem/stem of the plant and the edge of the pot).
4. As you push the pin into the soil, you will notice that the moisture reading varies the deeper you insert the pin into the soil. This is because the moisture content in the soil is not the same everywhere. Some soil types contain spots/spots where moisture accumulates, and so an incorrect (too high) measurement result can occur on site. We advise to take at least 2 to 3 measurements in order to be able to read a good average value and to discover incidental deviations as mentioned above. Of course you then ignore the strongly deviating measurement.
5. The measurement can be used if the LCD screen is displayed for 4 – 6 sec. indicates a fixed value that does not change (anymore).
6. Pull the pin out of the ground.
7. Clean the measuring pin well, see above under 2.
IMPORTANT:
• This digital moisture meter is made and designed to perform a short term test individually. The probe is not suitable for prolonged contact with moisture or the ground.
• If the meter is not used for 2 minutes, the meter will turn off automatically. Press the button to turn the meter back on.
