Have you ever met a kid who doesn't like strawberries? Growing your own fruit is a wonderful experience to share with your children. Unlike many other fruit crops, strawberries need very little space. Fragaria x ananassa 'Ostara' produces nice firm, juicy, round red fruits that are ready to pick from June. This variety gives even until October/november (frost days) fruits. The plants multiply via runners and are self-pollinating. Little susceptible to diseases and high production. This variety produces medium sized strawberries with a good, sweet taste. They grow best in airy, fertile and humus-rich soil, well protected from wind.
