This plant will become Sansevieria of sanseveriacalled Women's Tongues in the Netherlands and sometimes Wijventongen in Belgium. It is an evergreen perennial and is one of the more well-known air-purifying plants for the home.

Even though the plant is native to West Africa, the Sansevieria trifasciata It has grown in popularity in recent decades and is now widely grown all over the world.

According to NASA, it is one of the best air-purifying plants that clear the air of toxic substances, such as formaldehyde, nitrous oxide, benzene, xylene and trichlorethylene.

It is a nice plant to have indoors because it can last a long time with low light. However, the plant prefers sufficiently bright light.

Also make sure not to overwater this plant as that is about the only way to keep the Sansevieria to get dead. Root rot is likely to occur when the soil is too moist for too long.

If you don't have any houseplants at home yet, Sansevieria are one of the best air-purifying plants to start with. They grow well both indoors and out, and they require very little maintenance. Be careful if you have pets, as this plant can be poisonous if ingested.
