Description
This 4 in 1 soil meter shows pH, moisture content, temperature and light intensity
Do you know the pH level of your soil? Is it acidic or alkaline soil?
Some plants grow better in slightly acidic soil and others in a more alkaline environment.
Control soil moisture, pH, and temperature plus light intensity
With this 4 in 1 soil meter you can easily check whether the acidity of the soil is suitable for a specific plant in the garden, vegetable garden, in pot plants and in the lawn. Use this test device to measure the growing conditions of all plants both indoors and outdoors. In addition to the pH value of the soil, this meter also checks the moisture and temperature of the soil, as well as the light intensity.
Measuring the pH value is important for the well-being of plants and the lawn
The meter is also ideally suited to lawn care by measuring soil conditions in various locations and selecting the right grass seed and fertilizer based on the results. Unsightly spots in the lawn can be caused by poor drainage (soil too wet, so test the humidity), soil that is too acidic or too alkaline (pH, test the acidity), or the wrong amount of light (test the light intensity and choose a suitable one). grass type due to sun/shade).
Use this pH tester by pushing the sensor into the soil
With its large and illuminated LCD screen, test results are easy to read
The 4 in 1 soil meter has a measuring pin with a length of 200 mm and a large LCD screen that is illuminated for easy reading of the measurement results. The meter also indicates when the battery needs to be replaced and turns itself off after 5 minutes of non-use. Start by installing a 9V block battery.
The intensity of the sunlight can be seen with a simple click
To measure the light intensity, press the “On” button and point the light sensor at the light source to read the light intensity.
Push the sensor of the meter into the soil for pH measurements
To measure the pH it is important that the soil is sufficiently moist. So water first and wait 30 min. if that is not the case. Set the “pH/Temp.” switch on the back of the meter to the “pH” position and press the “On” button. Push the measuring pin vertically into the ground and make sure that there are no obstacles in the ground such as stones and roots. The pH value is now displayed. Make several measurements to get a reliable result.
You can measure soil moisture in the same way as pH
To measure the moisture content of the soil, set the “pH/Temp.” Switch on the back to the position “temp.” And press the button “On”. Push the pin vertically into the ground, and make sure it is full ground without any obstacles. Now the moisture of the soil is shown.
Measuring the temperature of the ground can be very useful
To measure the temperature of the soil, the same instructions apply as to measure the humidity. Press the “C/F” button on the 4 in 1 soil meter to select Celsius or Fahrenheit.
A manual is included in the box for the interpretation of all measurement results.
General usage tips
- The meter turns itself off after 5 minutes of non-use.
- Only use the meter in soil, not in water or other liquids.
- Do not forget to remove the protective cap from the probe before measuring.
- Do not leave the pin in the ground longer than necessary to avoid damage.
- Press the pin vertically into the ground and do not use too much force if there are obstacles in the ground.
- Wipe the probe clean and dry with a soft cloth before continuing to measure and after you have finished measuring.
- Carefully remove any oxidation from the probe with a scouring pad.
- Don't forget to replace the probe cap when you are done with the measurements. This prevents oxidation.
- Remove the battery if you will not be using the meter for an extended period of time.
- Avoid too much dust and water (the meter is water resistant, but not waterproof).
FAQ – pH and temperature measurements with the 4 in 1 soil meter
When I press the “On” button nothing happens
Replace the battery
The “low battery” symbol turns on
Replace the battery
The pH and/or the temperature shows no value
The measurement results are outside the maximum values. The range of pH values is between 3,5 and 9,0 and the range of temperature is from -9 C to +50 C. Also check the “pH/Temp.” switch on the back is in the correct position.
The results of different measurements are very diverse or appear to be unreliable
Have you removed the protective cap from the probe?
Have you performed sufficient measurements to obtain confirmation of the results?
Was the pen clean, dry and free from oxidation before measuring?
Is the soil sufficiently moist?
Are there no obstacles such as stones and roots at the measurement site?
Have you kept enough distance to the side and bottom of the pot?
Is the soil of the same composition in all places where you have measured?
Does the measuring pin hit a spot with a lot of manure in the soil or is the soil continuously fertilized?
